Nous avons passé un agréable séjour entre amis dans les gîtes Chez Belliveau pour le week-end du premier mai. Le jardin est très agréable, entièrement clos. Les enfants ont profité des nombreuses structures et jeux mis à leur disposition. Nous avons aussi pu nous rendre rapidement au bord de la mer (20 minutes). Le propriétaire a été très agréable et disponible pour nos demandes. A cause du temps, nous n’avons malheureusement pas pu profiter de la piscine, à faire une prochaine fois !

Nous sommes un groupe d’amis de différentes régions françaises et Catalane : nous nous retrouvons chaque année au mois de mai depuis plus de 10 ans pour découvrir une région. Notre séjour dans les gîtes « chez Belliveau » fait parti des meilleurs hébergements que nous ayons eu, chacun avait son indépendance son calme sa terrasse… C’ est un lieu a recommander pour toutes catégories de personnes âgées avec des enfants… sans oublier la piscine chauffée un vrai plaisir !!! Le cadre du gîte, ses nombreuses facilités , y compris à l’abri et pour de grandes tablées, les aires de jeux sympas et paisibles, et d’évidence et surtout l’accueil des hôtes très attentifs ont apporté un support agréable et confortable. Tout est soigné et impeccable, agréable à l’œil, doux à vivre.
Le gîte yewtree est comme une maison de famille, avec de jolies chambres douillettes et un très grand séjour, pour se retrouver plus nombreux, par exemple avec les petits-enfants.
Chez Belliveau est très bien situé à une réelle proximité de Royan, comme de Saujon et de Saintes, et des beaux villages de Talmont et de Mornac sur Seudre. Cette situation permet des séjours balnéaires et touristiques, tout en se retrouvant au calme pour se ressourcer.

Location de 4 gîtes pour une vingtaine de personnes, lors d’un rassemblement amical, un week-end en Septembre.
Nous retenons particulièrement la disponibilité des gérants, très serviables et soucieux du bien-être des occupants.
Vraiment appréciable.Les gîtes sont situés dans un hameau très calme, le site est spacieux et propre…parfait pour un séjour de détente,
ou nous nous sommes sentis tout de suite à l’aise.
Habitués des gîtes ruraux, nous recommandons « Chez Belliveau » pour son excellent rapport prix/prestations.

Excellent séjour au gîte « Chez Belliveau ». Au calme, dans un environnement sécurisé pour les enfants, nous avons bien profité de la piscine, toujours très bien entretenue, et de l’aire de jeu. Thank you for another lovely stay at Chez Belliveau. We loved our cottage Catalpa with a private terrace and it was handy as it overlooked the park area so we could keep an eye on our children while they were playing. We really enjoyed the delicious meal which was organised. It was so nice to relax and the children could play with other new friends they had met during their holiday also staying at Chez Belliveau. I have a 3 year old and a 9 year old and they were both entertained with the park area, pool and games room.

We had a wonderful time at Chez Belliveau. A quiet location in the French countryside but with easy access to the local towns and villages. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed and had space outside to enjoy the sunshine. The large garden meant there was plenty of space for the kids to run around and play with their friends. The pool was a good size with ample sun loungers and seats.
The surrounding area was excellent for running and cycling with quiet roads and picturesque villages to explore. The beaches were sandy and clean and the Cote Savage was great for waves and body boarding. All round a fabulous and relaxing holiday.

Thank you so much for your kind hospitality and a fabulous stay during August for us and for our family when we visited you recently from UK and Australia.
We had a great time staying at Chez Belliveau and the cottages we stayed in “Yew Tree Cottage’ and ‘Catalpa Cottage’ were excellent and just what we wanted.
Noah our 6 month old grandson and newest member of our family really loved his first holiday in France and especially loved the baby-pool, swing and sandpit!!  It was
nice to meet other guests too at the bar evenings and informal dinner. We found Chez Belliveau ideally situated and only 20 minutes from the nearest beaches and towns of Royan & Saintes.
We have no hesitation in recommending Chez Belliveau to our family and friends and anyone wanting a relaxing holiday in France with great accommodation.

Once again we returned to Chez Belliveau and once again we were welcomed by Thierry and Isabelle who are the perfect hosts, always on hand if needed. This is our 5th visit to Chez Belliveau which speaks for itself really, we return because of the relaxed atmosphere and surroundings with the amazing pool, games room, bar and well kept grounds Thierry and Isabelle have worked really hard to make their gites the perfect place to stay. A great location for exploring this beautiful area we love the beaches on the Cote Savage the best, a bit of a trek up and over the dunes but well worth the effort! Thank you once again Thierry and Isabelle for a wonderful holiday I’m sure we will return!

We stayed in Yew Tree Cottage which was has a lovely old French farmhouse feel. The kitchen is a good size for self-catering and the lounge/diner is very big and airy. The children’s bedroom upstairs was ideal with 2 bunk beds and a single while the double beds were comfy with proper mattresses. The pool and the play area are ideal for young families and as per last year the children all enjoyed playing together. It is good the parents can relax with the children in a safe environment. Excellent séjour, nous recherchions un endroit paisible pour nous reposer en famille et nous l’avons trouvé sur le site de Thierry et Isabelle. Le gîte est confortable, spacieux et bien équipé. La propriété est entièrement fleurie et bien entretenue. L’aire de la piscine partagée avec les autres gîtes est suffisamment grande pour que chacun y trouve l’endroit qui lui convient. La végétation offre des espaces ombragés très agréables au moment le plus chaud de la journée. Les enfants ont beaucoup apprécié la salle de jeux pour jouer au ping pong, la grande aire de jeux de plein pour les jeux de ballon ainsi que la piscine. Ils ont pu y rencontrer d’autres enfants pour jouer ensemble pour le plus grand bonheur des parents qui peuvent ainsi apprécier quelques moments de tranquillité. Bref je recommande ce site pour des séjours en famille ou entre amis. A proximité des commodités, sa localisation permet également de nombreuses visites de la région.  »

We enjoyed 4 nights at the Chestnut gîte. A baby bed and high chair was provided without problems , the gite was small but well maintained with cute decoration. The grounds are large with big swimming pool and large play ground for children. The reception was friendly and efficient. Thank you so much to Thierry and Isabelle for such a fantastic relaxing holiday. We have just come back from a week in Yew Tree Cottage and had a really lovely time. The cottage is very comfortable and extremely well equipped, we are a family of 5 and there was plenty of space for us all, the little touches like toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, hand towels, fairy liquid made our arrival so much more welcoming as we didn’t have to think about the immediate essentials, not to mention the chilled rose, water and galette waiting for us on arrival! The grounds of the property are beautiful and peaceful, the flowers and gardens so well maintained, our children loved the play area with its football, sandpit, play houses and climbing frames plus loads of toys to play with. The pool area is fantastic with sun or shade to sit or lie in, our children loved playing in both the children’s and big pools while my husband and I could relax and watch them, or join in! It was so nice to have a proper washing line too to dry all the towels at the end of the day. The property is very well located and easy to find, we picked up a Super U drive on our way in at Saujon which is highly recommended and only minutes away. Thierry delivered our bread and pastries in the morning which was a real treat too! Thank you again Thierry & Isabelle this was the most relaxing holiday we’ve had in years, I’m sure we’ll be back!

Nous avons loué tous les gîtes pour un weekend famille à l’Ascension. Tout était parfait, les gîtes sont très propres et conformes aux photos, la grande piscine chauffée, un terrain de jeux pour petits et grands dans un cadre champêtre, fleuri et verdoyant. Les propriétaires mettent tout en œuvre pour que votre séjour soit réussi. Rien à redire. Je recommande sans hésitation.

Tous les ans nous nous réunissons entre amis avec les enfants le week-end de pentecôte et cette année c’était « chez belliveau ». Nous avions loué l’ensemble du site et nous n’avons pas regretté notre choix…. tout était parfait! Les gites spacieux propres bien équipés ; la piscine très grande et super agréable ; l’aire de jeux idéal pour les enfants ; les grands espaces et les jardins fleuris agrémentent vraiment le site et enfin le préau et la salle sont très appréciables pour se réunir pour manger tous ensemble. Le tout sur un terrain clos et sécurisé… nous espérons vivement revenir une prochaine fois

PARFAIT! Voilà une adresse a conserver précieusement. Un site fantastique ou tout est prévu pour passer un séjour merveilleux… si vous partez avec des enfants c est le lieu idéal : immense piscine et sa pataugeoire chauffée, de nombreux jeux de plein air, une salle avec billard babyfoot et ping pong… et le site est très sécurisé pour laisser jouer sereinement les plus petits! Quant aux hôtes …. ils sont parfaits! Un accueil au top , le gite est très bien équipé, et Thierry est disponible a tout moment pour vous rendre le séjour le plus agréable possible tout en restant d une discrétion totale…. Certainement le meilleur gite que nous ayons fait! Encore merci Thierry !

Nous avons une nouvelle fois passé un excellent week-end dans votre propriété, malgré une météo partagée. Nous apprécions vraiment, le confort, la qualité, la propreté et le charme de vos gîtes toujours aussi bien tenus avec leurs petits lots de nouveautés découvertes à chaque séjour.
Votre gentillesse et le soin que vous apportez à l’entretient dans le moindre détail de vos gîtes et du très joli parc qui les entoure, a encore séduit toute la famille qui s’y sent vraiment comme chez elle. Nous avons hâte d’y revenir dans deux ans pour un nouveau rassemblement.

« Just to let you know we had a great holiday. Alex and Luca loved the play park, sand pit and the pool. The cottage Chestnut was ideal with its private terrace and the interior is spacious and relaxing. The children enjoyed the play room with table tennis, football table and the pool table. They loved exploring the woods nearby and seeing the chickens and sheep in the field next door.  Daddy also managed to have some time to go for a run in the woods as there are lots of quiet roads and tracks around the house, perfect for cycling or running. The beaches are just a short drive away less than 30 minutes. This cottage is ideal for a family with a baby or toddler as it is all flat. Alex is 22 months old and we found that it was ideal for us. There is only a little step inside the house. The area is perfect, nearby there are lots of fun and interesting places to visit such as the Ferme de Magna. ( Childrens farm with activities), Saintes (beautiful town) also has a little train to visit the town,  Paleosite, Caves and beaches at Meschers, the Aquarium at La Rochelle and much more. See you all again very soon!  »

We had a brilliant holiday and loved our cottage and your help with any queries we had including my attempts to do my washing in the swimming pool I think you probably thought mad English! !!! I can and will highly recommend Chez Belliveau to my friends and family and say without doubt it has been my favourite French holiday. I have been coming to the region for 20 years and tried different places since our friend sold their home there and non have been as nice as Chez Belliveau. We will be back.

Thank you for our stay, we enjoyed our stay at your gites. We loved the peacefulness of the place, even though there were 6 holiday cottages, it always felt very quiet and from our garden and cottage we felt quite secluded and private. The house was lovely and comfortable and the pool area very serene and beautifully well kept.

The bar is a real bonus though we didn’t take enough advantage of it and sadly missed the meal as our children were being fussy.

If we came to the area again we would love to stay at chez belliveau.

Nous avons apprécié le calme, les espaces extérieurs bien entretenus dont la piscine chauffée vraiment agréable. Le service boulangerie du matin est un vrai plus et rajoute à la qualité des services proposés.

We had 2 great weeks at Chez Belliveau. We stayed in Catalpa cottage, 2 very nice pools and plenty of grounds for the children to play in. A real bonus was the morning delivery of bread and pastries from the boulangerie. This summed up the helpfulness of Thierry and Isabelle, they were great hosts and the children really warmed to them. Having them on-site was very helpful and provided us with so much local knowledge from vinyards, beaches, local markets and booking us into La Table restaurant in Meursac.

The bar on site is great for bringing everyone together and the weekly meal on a wednesday night was really nice and was great to mix with the other families. With young children it was akin to a night our with local french cooking.We would recommend Chez Belliveau. Thanks again Thierry and Isabelle.

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans le gite « Campsis ».
Le site est remarquable (magnifique grande piscine et sympathiques transats à chapeaux intégrés !), le gite extrêmement bien équipé, les lits très confortables …. et les propriétaires très accueillants, générant une ambiance bien conviviale. Mais ce n’est pas qu’un gite et une piscine qui sont mis à disposition, c’est aussi de quoi jouer au ping pong, à la pétanque, de quoi lire tranquillement sur les transats (en français ou en anglais, selon les gouts !), et plein de petits conseils avisés sur les sorties locales possibles. Un grand merci à Thierry et Isabelle en particulier pour la bonne adresse de restaurant et de producteur de pineau, sur lesquelles nous ne serions pas tombés tous seuls.
Nous gardons cette très bonne adresse pour des futures vacances, dès que nous retournerons dans ce coin !

Our stay at Chez Beliveau was all that we expected as it was our second visit. The accommodation and facilities are spotlessly cleaned and maintained to the most highest of standards.
There are no problems that will hinder your stay here because you only have to mention them and Thierry will get it sorted, this includes booking attractions with language difficulties.
Recommendation in itself is that we have already had 2 visits here and we will again be considering it as one of our holiday destinations for 2017.

Yes, we really enjoyed our week with you at Belliveau and loved the outdoors living at Campsis with our charming veranda and outlook over the sunflower fields. Your pool is the best we have ever experienced at a holiday gite, so many thanks! We really appreciated how clean the pool was and what a great temperature the water always was. We also had fun exploring the Charente Maritime area and would recommend a visit to Saintes to see the Roman amphitheatre, and the beaches at Meschers (Plage des Vergnes and Plage des Nonnes) as well as experiencing the stunning beaches and waves on the Cote Sauvage.

Nous avons spécialement apprécié le calme, la courtoisie de tous les hôtes, le service boulangerie pour le petit déjeuner, la piscine et son bel environnement fleuri ainsi que votre gentillesse et vos conseils avisés pour découvrir la région qui offre des attraits variés : découverte des patrimoines naturel, historique, gastronomique et architectural, plages qui ne sont pas surpeuplées début juillet, promenades en mer ou soirées musicales à Saintes…

Nous avons réservé un week end prolongé à la dernière minute avec des enfants en bas âge. L’accueil a été très chaleureux et les propriétaires très disponibles. Nous n’avons manqué de rien, tout est très bien pensé tant dans le gite (barrières de lit pour enfant, chaises hautes…) que dans les espaces extérieurs (barbecue, piscine chauffée ombragée, espace de jeux pour les enfants…). Nous recommandons très vivement ce gite qui a été pour nous un vrai havre de paix. Nous espérons pouvoir y retourner très bientôt. Merci à tous les 2!

A notre plus grande joie, nous sommes revenus pour la deuxieme année consécutive “chez Belliveau”! Nous venions d’avoir notre deuxieme enfant et nous savions déjà que c’était la destination parfaite pour passer des vacances en famille. Nous n’avons pas été déçu et c’était même encore mieux que dans nos souvenirs. Le gite que nous avons loué était impeccable avec toutes les fournitures bébé mis gracieusement à disposition, Thierry & Isabelle étaient là pour nous accueuillir et répondre à nos questions, notre plus grande fille a grandement profité des balançoires, piscines et autres jeux pour enfants, et quant à nous, les parents, nous avons fait de très belles rencontres avec les autres vacanciers du site. Bref nous avons vraiment pu profiter pleinement du splendide site de Thierry & Isabelle et nous espérons sincèrement pouvoir revenir l’année prochaine! Un grand merci.

RÉUNION DE FAMILLE MAI 2016

Nous avons réservé tous les gites pour le weekend de l’Ascension 2016 pour une réunion de famille (32 personnes) et avons passé un excellent séjour. Les propriétaires ont mis tout en oeuvre, avec beaucoup de gentillesse et de discrétion, pour que notre séjour se déroule dans les meilleures conditions. Tous les gîtes sont spacieux, propres et soignés, conformes aux photos du site. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la piscine chauffée début mai… (ce qui n’est pas toujours le cas dans les autres locations), l’aire de jeu a ravi petits, le tout situé dans un cadre champêtre très agréable et très bien entretenu. Nous recommandons vivement les Gîtes Belliveau et sommes prêts à revenir l’an prochain.

Our party was a young family of 5 plus grandparents, staying at Camelia and Chestnut. Thierry was prompt and informative in his correspondence prior to booking and I’m very glad we did. The photos of the gites don’t do them justice. Spacious enough, spotlessly clean and well equipped with an unexpected level of privacy. The grounds are beautifully maintained with facilities and activities suitable for all age groups. My 6 year old mastered the monkey bars and my 3 year old graduated from the baby pool to the big pool. My husband and I enjoyed a few runs around the local roads but Meursac isn’t walking distance and there isn’t much there. We got in the car to visit Saintes, La Palmyre, Mornac sur Seudre and Talmont sur Gironde, all picturesque and well within 30 minutes drive. A relaxing, fun week and good value for money.

Thierry et Isabelle ont un acceuil chaleureux et pratique. Nous avons passe un sejour tres agreable dans le gite Camelia avec nos 3 enfants, dont un bebe. Thierry et Isabelle nous ont prete tout ce qu’il faillait pour notre bebe, et nos deux filles se sont beaucoup amuse dans la piscine et avec les jeux offerts dans le joli jardin. Le gite est tres bien equipe et decore avec sensibilite. La petite livraison du boulanger tous les matins etait tres sympa aussi. Nous n’hesiterons pas a recommender le gite pour nos amis ni a revenir en visite nous meme une autre fois.

Chez Belliveau is the ideal spot for families with children. Thierry and Isabelle have thought of everything and were very helpful. We stayed in Catalpa which sleeps eight comfortably with a bathroom and shower upstairs and a shower room and separate toilet downstairs. The cottages are well equipped with crockery and cutlery and cooking bits and pieces.
Our grandchildren loved the safe freedom they had to play in the “park” with the swings and other equipment and especially enjoyed the pool. Thierry maintains everything very well and the gardens are beautiful. It is a lovely place to stay.
The beaches are about a thirty minute pretty drive away. We were blessed with lovely weather and the family spent three days on sandy, safe beaches.
There are things to do locally and Thierry has many information leaflets to help with your choice.
Chez Belliveau is a good base if you don’t mind driving to get to where you want to go. The nearest supermarket was about ten to fifteen minutes away in the car, (Super U) but Thierry takes orders for bread and croissants each night so they are delivered fresh each morning to your door!
We drove there, but it is a LONG journey. I would seriously consider flying to a local airport and hiring a car locally next time.

Just had a superb week at Chez Belliveau. Very nice cottage, excellent pool and plenty of grounds for the children to play in. Morning delivery of bread, croissants and pain au raisin too! Plus table tennis, table football and pool table to keep kids amused.
A huge bonus was the bar on site manned by the ever helpful owners Thierry and Isobel. Plus they did a meal for all on site one evening which was really nice and great to mix with the other families.
Restaurant la Table is a must visit whilst there, Thierry will book for you.

Chez Belliveau was all that we were hoping for, a comfortable place to stay. Our Gite was full of the equipment needed for a self catering holiday, and plenty of it to allow a “Washing up” free holiday.
Thierry and Isabelle were helpful in every way, nothing too much trouble including the delivery fresh Bakery items onto the doorstep each morning, Bliss.
The swimming pool area, was maintained to a high standard, cleaned every day, plenty of relaxing loungers and quite honestly our teenage children loved it, so much so that no sooner did we go out than they were ready to get back for the pool.
In all it is a lovely place to stay, lots close by to do and always this welcoming place to come back to each evening, pure relaxation.

Un joli cadre champêtre très agréable et super bien entretenu, abrite 6 vastes gîtes confortables et bien équipés qui bénéficient d’une grande piscine chauffée. Le tout constitue un cadre sécurisant pour les enfants qui seront ravis par l’espace de liberté, les jeux, les moutons et bien sur la piscine.

La proximité de la cote, de Royan, de Talmon, du zoo de la Palmyre, permet de belles balades en famille.
Pour ceux qui comme nous sont nombreux, la grande salle de jeux qui peu servir de salle de fête, la possibilité de louer plusieurs gîtes autour d’un logis plus vaste servant de point de ralliement, sont des éléments appréciables et déterminant pour réussir un bon séjour, à des prix qui restent raisonnables.

We must give credit to Thierry and Isabel for bringing the visitors together with their weekly meals in the “bar” (in season) or little “impromptu” “get-togethers” for caramel cake or pancakes out of season. A lovely idea !

Our two weeks staying in the Yew tree made for an excellent and relaxing holiday. We especially loved the fresh bread delivered each day, the lovely pools area and the local wines available. We choose not to venture too far with our young daughter and Thierry provided an additional map and advice on walking routes to the nearby village. The nearest town has 3 supermarkets and the Yew tree has a well equipped kitchen for preparing meals. In the main season period, Thierry runs a small bar, with an old cognac distillery in it. During our stay Thierry and Isabelle offered us welcoming pancakes one evening and a wonderful meal on another evening – all served well within range of the baby monitor. Wonderful weather and an wonderful location – perfect.

Juste un petit mot pour vous remercier de votre accueil et de votre disponibilité lors de notre semaine passée dans l’un de vos gîtes.
Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine, dans un gîte confortable, propre, très fonctionnel et bien équipé, tout cela situé en campagne dans un cadre très agréable. Malgré tout, on est très proche du bord de mer et nous avons pu visiter pas mal de choses sans dépasser une heure de route maximum.
En plus, nous avons eu un temps superbe durant toute cette semaine et nous avons pu profiter de la piscine tous les jours.
Nous n’avions pas nos petits enfants mais le terrain est suffisamment grands pour que les enfants jouent en toute sécurité puisque le site est clos (la piscine aussi est close avec une porte de sécurité, donc les enfants n’y ont pas accès tout seul) ; tout est fait aussi pour les enfants puisqu’il y a plein de jeux pour eux et qu’ils peuvent aller et venir du gîte aux jeux en toute liberté.

You have made so many improvements since you took over from the previous owners, we’ve seen a lot of positive changes over the years that we have been coming to stay. Our stay with you is made so much easier for us as you speak very good English and asking for help and local advise couldn’t be simpler! Chez Belliveau which has its own pool and is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is very close to local beaches and other attractions and amenities, so it’s ideal for all generations from very young upwards. During the day you have full use of the pool, surrounding grounds and all other amenities, there is an indoor games room with various activities for you to enjoy with table tennis, table football, darts and a pool table etc. Also to have the option of either relaxing in your own Gite and surrounding grounds or join other guests in the bar in the evenings is great. Thierry and Isabelle are always on hand if you need anything extra, they even deliver fresh croissants and baguettes in the morning to you door supplied by a local baker!. A truly ideal location for a fantastic holiday.

As a family we had booked to spend three weeks In Yew Tree but an unexpected wedding invitation meant we all had to change our plans. Thierry helped us sort things out and Kate & family spent a week in Camellia cottage followed by us all together inYew Tree. Unfortunately Thierry couldn’t do anything about the rain in the first week but the children still made the most of the safe play area and found plenty to do with the friends they made. We were more fortunate with the weather for the second week and found plenty to do in the area, as well as making use of the excellent pool area. We already knew the area from past holidays but much had changed since we had last been to the Charente Maritime so we were all glad of Thierry’s local knowledge. The bread delivery each morning was very welcome and the weekly ‘get together’ for an excellent meal cooked by Isabelle was a fun way of meeting up with everyone else staying at Chez Belliveau. The toys available for the younger visitors, together with the games room make it a good all round destination for a relaxing family holiday, whatever the ages. The cottages are all well equipped and Thierry is there immediately to deal with any problems that might arise. The Charente Maritime area has a wide variety of things to do and the weather is (normally!) warm and sunny for most of the year. You will find the welcome at Chez Belliveau well worth the journey.

We have just returned from a week’s stay at Chez Belliveau with our two children aged 14 and 10. We booked flights to Bordeaux and then hired a car. We were greeted warmly after our travels (1-1.5 hours by car from Bordeaux) by our hosts with a very-welcome drink from the bar and then a tour of the owners’ fantastic site. Our cottage (Camelia) was perfectly comfortable and well-equipped. The grounds themselves are meticulously maintained by Thierry and Isabelle and their hard work and pride in providing a safe and pleasant environment is obvious to see and appreciate. There is plenty of room for children to run around, a play area, ball games and sports such as table tennis for older children are available under cover. The highlight has to be the swimming pool which was a very peaceful, pretty and safe area. The morning arrival of freshly-baked bread and croissants on our doorstep was a huge hit with our kids. Venturing further afield, the local region is very beautiful with a variety of pretty villages and beaches to visit during your stay such as Talmont-sur-Gironde and Meschers. Our hosts remained in the background but were always available to recommend places to visit and provide directions/maps to ensure you get the best from your stay. On the Thursday evening, Isabelle cooked a delicious dinner which everyone staying attended and was thoroughly enjoyable, particularly as our group was a very sociable one, with all the children and adults enjoying each other’s company throughout our stay! I hope we can keep in touch. All in all, a very hospitable, relaxing and enjoyable stay and one that we shall remember for many years to come, perhaps the best gite holiday in France we have experienced (we really didn’t want to go home!).

We certainly got our money’s worth from it, with our 13 year old daughter waiting at the pool area gate at 10am! We were also lucky that the other five families had children with a range of ages and they all got on so well. The dinner Isabelle cooked for us all on the Thursday was a great success; everyone enjoyed it.

Dear Isabelle and Thierry,
We wanted to say how much we enjoyed our stay in Cherry a few weeks ago. You made us feel so welcome and were always available whenever we needed to ask a question, yet at the same time you were unobtrusive hosts, leaving us to enjoy a peaceful garden and pool area. Our two boys (11 and 9 years) really appreciated the open space to kick their football around in and the pool was plenty big enough for everyone who wanted to swim.
Our cottage, Cherry, had everything we needed and was clean, spacious and private. Having our breakfast bread and pastries delivered was a special treat, which was hard to resist, and your communal meal on the Thursday evening was a wonderful opportunity to meet and talk with the other holidaymakers.
Although we could have spent the whole time relaxing at Chez Belliveau, we did explore the local countryside, which is beautiful. We would recommend a trip to the coast, the Ile d’Oleron (hire some bikes and find a beach, or go to the water park), the Zoo at La Palmyre, Rochefort (to see L’Hermione in its dock and the rope factory) as well as a visit to one of the local vineyards to stock up on some tasty and great value local wines and cognac. The local restaurant in Meursac (La Table) is also well worth a visit if you like good French food in a lovely location.
We would recommend a stay at Chez Belliveau without hesitation.

We had a lovely time at Chez Belliveau. It was perfect for young families. The pool was fantastic and the large garden/play area was a favorite for our kids . Both Stuart and I found the holiday peaceful and relaxing and enjoyed our day trips to the local towns and beaches.

Ce jardin d’enfants est un point fort dans ce gîte et fait sans le vouloir une forte publicité auprès des familles.
Cette année ce sont les enfants qui nous ont crié :
-“On veut aller chez Belliveau, on veut aller chez Belliveau”.. !
L’accueil est très chaleureux, Thierry et Isabelle sont toujours disponibles et souriants.
Bravo pour tout l’ensemble, la configuration des gîtes, les équipements, l’environnement..(A signaler que les draps fournis, le pain frais le matin, et le ménage inclus dans le prix sont des détails très appréciés)
En conclusion, comme nous y sommes trop bien il faut y rester plus longtemps…

We had a fabulous holiday this year at Chez Belliveau. Our apartment was clean, comfortable and had everything we required. We find it relaxing and quite, and close to many beautiful beaches and wonderful countryside. The large heated pool for our use, when ever we needed it, was lovely.
Being retired we were able to holiday in late June early July, when there were fewer people about, giving us really good service in all restaurants and bars.
We will return again, in two years time.

We have just returned from two weeks’ holiday in France staying at Chez Belliveau. Our cottage ‘Chestnut’ was very comfortable and well equipped with a pretty and private patio.The onsite owners, Thierry and Isabelle, were very welcoming and never too far away if we needed any help or advice. They are dedicated in maintaining the high standard of the gites, facilities and grounds. They also cooked and served a splendid French four-course dinner on the Thursday evening, at a reasonable price for any guests that wished to dine. This we did on both occasions as it was a very social and relaxed evening.The absolute highlight for me was the swimming pool, very private and surrounded by beautiful lawns and flowering shrubs. Most days the pool was completely empty as other guests headed for the nearby beaches.I would highly recommend Chez Belliveau for anyone who wishes to have a quiet and relaxing escape-type holiday in a warm and welcoming part of France.

Nous avons séjourné dans les gîtes Chestnut et Campsis de Chez Belliveau lors de l’été 2013 avec nos 2 enfants en bas âge et nous en gardons un très bon souvenir.Les gîtes sont très bien équipés, très agréables et fonctionnels. Thierry et Isabelle nous ont mis également à disposition l’équipement bébé dont nous avions besoin.Le site est très bien entretenu. La piscine est très agréable et suffisamment grande pour en profiter pleinement même lorsque tous les vacanciers s’y retrouvent (ce qui est finalement assez rare).Les propriétaires sont sur place en cas de problème. Ils sont charmants et très discrets.Chaque gîte a sa terrasse privative et la présence d’autres gîtes à proximité n’est pas gênante. Au contraire, les enfants peuvent jouer ensemble. De nombreux équipements leur sont d’ailleurs dédiés dans le grand jardin. L’endroit est calme et reposant (voiture indispensable) et idéal pour sillonner un peu la région.

Thank you very much for making us feel so welcome at Chez Belliveau, we all had an absolutely fantastic holiday and would not hesitate to recommend you. “From the moment we arrived at Chez Belliveau we were offered a very warm welcome including a very refreshing drink from Thierry’s bar!! The Gite was clean, typically French and basic, yet we wanted for nothing. We had stopped en-route to buy food for the bar-b-q but realised we had forgotten both charcoal and matches, but not to worry because Thierry was happy to provide us with both! The swimming pools were always clean and the surrounding gardens were beautifully looked after. Even though we have older children, it was a very safe environment for young families, including a large play area for small children and a good sized grassed area and football nets for older children. We made regular use of the pool table and table tennis and so our two teenage boys were easily entertained. The Gites are in a fabulous location, enabling easy driving to La Rochelle, Royan, Saintes etc. One of the simplest pleasures was having fresh croissants and bread delivered to our door each morning! I would not hesitate to recommend Chez Belliveau and look forward to a return visit”

Chez Belliveau is discreetly tucked away in the most beautiful corner of France. It’s in a lovely rural setting surrounded by an endless expanse of vineyards, sunflowers, crops , etc. What’s also a bonus is it’s only a 10 min spin to the town of Saujon for the groceries in the local Supermarket. Royan on the coast is 20 min away and you have a choice of beaches, shops restaurants , etc. We flew Ryanair from to La Rochelle airport which is only 50 min to Chez BelliveauOur cottage (Yew Tree) was excellent and had all that we needed and indeed more. It was very clean, comfortable and spacious for the six of us. Chez Belliveau is very well maintained and landscaped — full of old world French charm. The swimming pool is exceptional a big hit with all the family and there are plenty of sun beds and parasols to help you doze off in between dips ! We also have to mention the treat each morning of opening the shutters and collecting a basket of freshly baked bread & croissants on the doorstep! The group dinner for all the guests of the 6 cottages was a very sociable evening that was enjoyed by all with excellent catering and service from our hosts. Our four children loved Chez Belliveau, the swimming pool, the games room, the outdoor space for playing and much more. We loved sitting on the terrace in the evening with our books and glasses in hand while the kids played away outside happily with their good friends from a UK family.Thierry and Isabelle are wonderful hosts and it is evident that they take great pride in Chez Belliveau and looking after their guests. Nothing was too small right from the moment we arrived until we left — thank you! To sum up we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks in Chez Belliveau and would love to return some day and highly recommend this destination to people as a holiday choice.

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday at Chez Belliveau. We have two small children (1 and 3 yrs) who felt at home straight away and really enjoyed the gite (Catalpa) and the whole site which felt very safe. The playground worked really well for them and the pool was absolutely perfect for small children with the best toddler pool we have seen and the main pool which was great for ‘real’ swimming, a good temperature and very well maintained. The overall location was ideal for us as it was peaceful but had easy access to the main roads and a short drive to some great beaches. We took bikes with us and really enjoyed cycling around the local lanes. Thierry and his wife are great hosts and made every effort to make our stay as good as possible including advising on trips, lending maps, hosting a drinks evening and happy to help with any questions or requests.

C’est avec satisfaction et plaisir que nous avons séjourné dans le gite “Chesnut” avec notre fille de 18 mois. Les propriétaires sont charmants et présents pour toute question ou information sans être envahissants: Prêt de matériel de plage, la livraison du pain directement au gite le matin… Le domaine est bien entretenu, la piscine est très agréable et les jouets de jardin ont comblé notre fille de 18 mois. Situé à 1 km de la voie rapide qui relie Saintes et Royan, la localisation du gîte est idéale pour visiter cette jolie région: Ile de Ré, Ile d’Oléron, La Palmyre, La Rochelle, le superbe petit village de Talmont sur Gironde….Merci à Isabelle et Thierry pour leur accueil. We have just returned from a week Chez Belliveau and wish we could have stayed longer: the gite is charming, spacious and very well-equipped. Thierry and Isabelle are extremely hospitable and friendly and we really appreciated all the little extra touches which made the holiday so special. The swimming pool is magnificent – very big and beautifully maintained. A lovely, peaceful holiday destination which is ideal for all ages.

I am a very regular visitor to France and have sampled numerous gites in various regions but truly recommend Chez Belliveau. The accommodation is clean and well-equipped and each gite has its own private corner whilst being within a few steps of the lovely pool area and the convivial bar and games areas. The photos do no not really do justice to the beautiful gardens and pretty flower beds which surround the properties. What really made the holiday, though, was the warm and friendly welcome of the hosts Isabelle and Thierry who really seem to enjoy what they do and go out of their way to make you feel at home. They are happy to spend time chatting in the bar over a glass of local wine or Pineau des Charentes making visitors feel really at home and yet experiencing a bit of French life. Fresh croissants or pastries arrive each morning to order and Isabelle delighted us one evening with a home-cooked meal with about 16 of us chatting over the four courses served by our two hosts. For me this was the best of similar holidays I have had over the years and I thoroughly recommend Chez Belliveau.

Merci pour votre accueil chaleureux. Beaucoup de simplicité et de gentillesse de votre part durant ce séjour. Bravo pour ce cadre magnifique, pour l’aire de jeux des enfants qui fut très appréciée. Bravo pour la pataugeoire, pour cette grande piscine (à bonne T°), bravo pour la déco autour du bassin, les fleurs, les palmiers, le choix des transats, des parasols et ce système d’accès sécurisé vraiment bien pensé. Les gîtes sont bien disposés car assez bien isolés les uns des autres, ils sont fonctionnels et confortables. Tout cet ensemble, perdu dans la campagne, loin de la foule et des plages noires de monde, permet de renouer avec le calme de la nature toujours agrémenté des chants d’oiseaux. Merci encore pour votre gentillesse et toute cette disponibilité.

Would highly recommend these establishments for children and adults alike.

Gîte très agréable, confortable dans un environnement calme et plaisant. Accueil chaleureux.Nous avons également apprécié la fourniture des draps car nous étions en moto. Et bien sûr, le fait que le ménage soit compris n’est pas négligeable.Mais respect : nous n’avons pas pour autant laissé le gîte dans un état déplorable !
Notre seul regret … ne pas avoir utiliser la superbe piscine ! Le beau temps n’étant pas présent, l’envie nous a manqué malgré qu’elle soit chauffée !Nous sommes donc repartis en nous promettant de revenir pour en profiter pleinement … d’ici 4 ou 5 ans.Car nous programmons une sortie à moto tous les ans : nous l’avons appelé « la sortie Trott ».

Week end entre amis (20 adultes et 14 enfants) qui s’est déroulé dans de très bonne conditions. les gites sont impeccables et très bien équipés pour les enfants et les bébés, c’est un paradis de jeux pour les enfants où tout est sécurisé, la piscine est très grande (14m*7m) et surtout les propriétaires sont très accueillants et ont été surtout très indulgents lors de nos petites soirées. Merci encore. à l’unanimité du groupe un très bon cru 2013 malgré la météo. Enfin ils sont bien situés pour rayonner dans cette belle région de Royan, Saujon. Bonne continuation
